The 14,000-square foot house sits on over five acres in the Village of Lattingtown, and was used for exterior scenes in the 1986 film. The plot follows a couple as they attempt to renovate a "country home," and as costs skyrocket, so do the tensions in their relationship.
The real-life couple who renovated the home told the New York Times in 2014 that they could have made a sequel to the 1986 movie, after hiring 30 people to fix it up and spending at least $5.9 million in the process.
